David Mirkovic

2027 NBA Mock Draft v. 1.0 with @CBSSports Adam Finkelstein

Sam says Illinois' staff told him Mirkovic is as good as any player they've had, Ayo Dosunmu included. Before Mirkovic broke his foot, Sam was ready to make him preseason national player of the year. Sam calls him maybe the best passing big in the country: he hits 38% from three, is a mid-post weapon, can bring the ball up and is surrounded by shooters. Sam projects around 17, 9 and 4-5 and calls him a college "cheat code." Adam buys the skill and feel fully and thinks the offense will scale down in the NBA. For Adam, foot speed on defense is the concern, before the injury and now.

Way Too Early 2027 NBA Mock Draft | The First Round

Calls Mirkovic mightily talented and under the radar after a freshman year of 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a 6'9 forward, shooting 38% from three on good volume. Not the most athletically pleasing to watch, but downright good and a seamless system fit; he had foot surgery and is expected back around the start of the season.
